Tactical Consultants is a full-service Federal Firearms License Dealer and Class 2 SOT, manufacturer/dealer of NFA items and Silencer Shop Official Dealer. Shipping a firearm? Tactical Consultants can help you take the stress out of the process . Let our experts help you with the transfer of a firearm purchased online, from an auction, or from a dealer located out of your geographical area or the State of Michigan.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

You must produce a VALID government form of identification to transfer a firearm and your name must be on the purchase order/transfer paperwork. Current Michigan law states you must have a concealed pistol license or LTP (license to purchase) prior to completing the transfer of a handgun with Tactical Consultants. If the transfer is from an auction, make sure you have in fact won the auction and finalized the purchase.

Any State or local waiting periods will begin after you have visited Tactical Consultants and have completed the Federal and State documents. Waiting periods do not start when you purchase or have the firearm shipped.

We only accept transfers from other Federal Licensed Dealers. We do not accept private transfers of shipments unless the private sale is facilitated with both the buyer and seller physically in person together when the documents are completed.

HOW DOES THE FIREARM TRANSFER WORK:

  • 1. Tactical Consultants charges $60 per transfer of each firearm. Military/Law Enforcement discounts available.
  • 2. You must complete the form below.
  • 3. We will contact the original FFL and exchange our license information. The firearm must be shipped directly to Tactical Consultants.

  • 4. After the firearm is ready for pickup, we will contact you regarding the arrival and schedule an appointment time. Your tracking number showing delivery is not an acceptable time to pick up your firearm. We must first complete the necessary paperwork and take inventory of the firearm.
  • 5. You must be the original purchaser of the firearm and you will have to come in to complete the ATF Form 4473, any applicable State Forms and pass a background check. IMPORTANT: If you are transferring a handgun, you must possess a valid CPL or LTP (license to purchase). Without a CPL or LTP, the handgun cannot be transferred to you.
  • 6. NFA ITEMS: Tactical Consultants is an Official Dealer with Silencer Shop. Customers can purchase directly through Tactical Consultants inventory, or through our Silencer Shop dealer page. If you have purchased any Suppressors, Short Barrel Rifles (SBR’S), Short Barrel Shotguns(SBS’s) or “AOW,” Tactical Consultants can handle your transfer and charges $150 per NFA item transferred. That includes all paperwork and storage of the NFA item awaiting ATF approval. THERE IS NO TRANSFER FEE IF THE NFA ITEM IS PURCHASED THROUGH TACTICAL CONSULTANTS OR THE SILENCER SHOP DEALER PAGE.
  • 7. Outgoing firearm transfers: Do you need a firearm shipped to another dealer? Tactical Consultants can assist you with shipping the firearm quickly and safely. We charge $30 per transfer plus the cost of shipping and assistance with packaging. Please contact us for more information and set up an appointment to have your firearm shipped.
