Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals

At the successful completion of this USCCA (United States Concealed Carry Association) course, students will earn a certificate proving they have completed the necessary training to apply for a concealed pistol license. This class is a state-mandated 5 hours classroom and 3 hours range and live fire qualification

Tactical Consultants will provide training both in the classroom and on the range/live fire in the following areas:

1. DEVELOPING A PERSONAL AND HOME PROTECTION PLAN
2. SELF-DEFENSE FIREARMS BASICS
3. DEFENSIVE SHOOTING
4. THE LEGAL USE OF FORCE
5. VIOLENT ENCOUNTERS AND THEIR AFTERMATH
6. GEAR

This class is a state-mandated 5 hours classroom and 3 hours range course. Students will need a semi-automatic firearm with at least 2 magazines and a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition.  100 rounds is recommended in case you do not pass the qualification the first attempt. Revolvers are permitted but not recommended. If a revolver is used, a speed loader will be required, and your instructor must be notified. Class begins promptly at 8:00am.  After booking you will receive a contact email from Tactical Consultants and how to prepare for your training day.  PISTOLS are available for rent and ammunition for purchase. Be aware this class is not designed to make you a proficient marksman with a handgun.  Tactical Consultants will hold their clients to much higher standards.  Students will typically shoot more and receive additional coaching on developing their skills in our CPL class over other gun shops.  However, it’s paramount that students follow up with additional handgun training immediately following a CPL class with Tactical Consultants.

RULES & POLICIES

Cancellation Policy

When enrolling in a training program with Tactical Consultants LLC, you are making a solid commitment to training on your chosen class date/time. We believe it is unfair to other clients waiting to enroll when there are last-minute cancellations or no-shows when that space could have been occupied by another student. This policy is firm and the tuition sale is final. There will be no refunds for students who fail to show or cancel their training. We do offer credit to a future class or a full refund in the unlikely event that Tactical Consultants must cancel the training.

Additional Rules & Policies

  • A valid photo, government-issued ID in addition to the student acknowledging they are allowed to own/possess a firearm.
  • Students will be required to complete a very thorough Participation Agreement and Release of Liability prior to participation in any training.
  • The current advertised rate for the full course training is based on an enrolment of 7 or more participants. Class registration of 6 or less is adjusted to a semi private rate of $400 per person.  See 1/1 training for more information.
  • Minors are not permitted to attend any Tactical Consultants training unless previously scheduled as a private, 1/1 training with the student and parent or guardian present at all times.
  • Students will need to review and have a working knowledge of the Cardinal Safety Rules
  • There are course prerequisites: Pistol Phase 1 is a prereq for Phase 2 pistol and AR-15 Phase 1 is a prereq for Phase 2 AR-15. There is no prereq for Concealed Carry and Home Defense, Intro to Handgun, Intro to AR-15, or Shotgun.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Valid government photo issued ID
  • Handgun (rental handguns are available)
  • Eye and ear protection (should have one pair of clear lenses). If you are unable to provide your own, we have a limited amount of protection to provide without charge
  • Baseball hat (not required but recommended for further eye protection)
  • Rugged clothing with solid footwear (absolutely no open toed shoes)
  • Rain gear/sunscreen, we train in all weather so please come prepared
  • Ammunition: CPL and Home Defense, 2 magazines and at least 50 rounds/1 box.  Ammunition is available for purchase.  PLEASE confirm if you need ammunition with us prior to your training date!
  • Magazines: 2
  • Cleaning equipment for your pistol
  • Notebook with pen or pencil
    Drinks and snacks (bag lunch for the full 8-hour course, there is no time to go out)
  • A good attitude and a promise to continue training following your CPL course!

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

  • Rentals are $20 per pistol per class. This is for full and half day classes.
  • Pistols available for rent are Glock 17’s with night sights.
  • 50 rounds for $25. Ammunition is subject to price changes frequently.
